Wild Wellness
Step into the wild with Wild Wellness, a Lake District wellbeing experience created for people who want to slow down, reset and reconnect.
Founded by Natasha Shuttleworth, Wild Wellness offers calm, small-group sessions combining cold water, wood-fired sauna, breathwork and time in nature. Based in Cumbria and the Lake District, these experiences are designed to feel grounding, supportive and restorative.
Natasha is a wellbeing coach with a background in mental health, open water swimming and research. Her sessions are shaped by both academic insight and lived experience, creating a space that feels safe, thoughtful and deeply human.
Wild Wellness was created after Natasha’s own personal experience of burnout. It exists to help others pause, breathe, step away from pressure and reconnect with themselves through nature-led wellbeing.
Using the PortaSauna KABINXL, Wild Wellness brings authentic wood-fired heat into beautiful outdoor settings, including open weekends at Coniston Water.

Highlights
Wild Wellness combines the grounding power of cold water with the warmth of a wood-fired sauna.
Guests are invited to move gently between heat, fresh air, cold water and rest, always at their own pace.
Wild Wellness is built around calm, supportive, small-group sessions.
The focus is not on rushing or pushing limits. It is about feeling safe, present and connected.
Guided breathwork is woven into selected sessions to help settle the nervous system, calm the mind and prepare the body for cold water, sauna or deep rest.
Wild Wellness also offers silent sauna experiences.
These sessions create space for stillness, reflection and quiet connection with nature.
Meditation is included within selected wellbeing experiences, helping guests slow down and create space away from busy everyday life.
Natasha also offers introduction to cold water swimming and 1-2-1 coaching for open water swimmers.
This makes Wild Wellness ideal for both complete beginners and people looking to develop more confidence in open water.
What Wild Wellness Offers
About Natasha Shuttleworth
Wild Wellness was founded by Natasha Shuttleworth, a wellbeing coach with a background in mental health, open water swimming and research.
After experiencing burnout personally, Natasha created Wild Wellness as a way to offer others the kind of space so many people need but rarely allow themselves to take.
Her approach brings together evidence-informed wellbeing, lived experience and the simple power of time outdoors.
Through cold water, sauna, breathwork and nature, Natasha creates sessions that help people slow down, regulate, reconnect and leave feeling more grounded.
The Sauna Experience
Wild Wellness uses the PortaSauna KABINXL, a large wood-fired sauna designed for shared outdoor sauna experiences.
The KABINXL allows Wild Wellness to create a warm, calming space beside the water, giving guests the chance to enjoy proper sauna heat as part of a wider nature-based wellbeing session.
Depending on the experience, the sauna may be paired with:
There is no pressure to stay in the sauna for a certain amount of time. Guests are encouraged to listen to their body, take breaks and move through the experience gently.
Session Style
Wild Wellness sessions are designed to feel calm, safe and supportive.
A typical experience may include:
Arrive at the meeting point, settle in and meet the group.
Natasha will introduce the session and explain what to expect, including sauna use, cold water guidance and safety information.
Begin with a gentle grounding practice or breathwork session to slow the mind and prepare the body.
Step into the PortaSauna KABINXL for your first heat round.
This is a chance to warm the body, breathe, relax and settle into the session.
Cool down outside in the fresh Lake District air.
Where suitable and included in the session, guests may be guided towards the water gradually and safely.
For sessions that include cold water, Natasha will guide guests gently.
There is no pressure to swim or stay in for a set time. Cold water is always approached with care, respect and choice.
Return to the sauna to warm through and relax again.
The contrast between cold water, heat and rest can help guests feel deeply reset.
Finish with time to rest, rehydrate, reflect and return slowly before heading home.

Trip Tips
Sauna and cold water sessions can both be physically demanding. Bring water and keep hydrated before and after your session.
Arrive wearing swimwear underneath your clothes where possible. This makes changing easier, especially for outdoor sessions.
Bring one towel to sit on in the sauna and another towel for drying off afterwards.
After cold water or sauna, loose warm clothing is ideal. A changing robe, dry robe, fleece or oversized layers can make the experience much more comfortable.
Bring suitable footwear for lakeside or outdoor terrain. The ground may be uneven, wet or cold.
Cold water should be approached gently. Enter slowly, listen to Natasha’s guidance and never push beyond what feels right for your body.
You can still take part even if you do not want to swim. Some guests may prefer to paddle, dip briefly, enjoy the sauna only or simply spend time in nature.
The aim is not endurance. The aim is connection, calm and reset. Take breaks whenever you need them.
